An After School Enrichment Program

for Youth in South Boston

We foster the intellectual, moral, social, and creative growth of our 4th - 8th grade students.

At Paraclete, we strive to reinforce the material that students learn in school and to enrich them through a variety of enrichment courses. Our AmeriCorps teachers practice project and game-based learned that actively engages students and emphasizes hands on activities. Classes are kept small to provide students with adequate individual attention. Classes are based on the Massachusetts Common Core with the intention of mastering the objectives that are taught at school. We require thirty minutes of reading and encourage a lifelong love of learning. Our individualized teaching help accommodate all learning styles to effectively enhance student understanding.

We offer daily enrichment courses to engage student passion and teach them lifelong skills.

Teachers develop enrichment classes based on their personal academic passions, which allows for a broader intellectual curiosity that moves beyond traditional academic subjects. In past years, teachers have taught Robotics & Computer Science, Human Anatomy, Spanish, Arts & Dance, Storytelling, Philosophy & Ethics, Psychology, Lego Engineering, Cooking Class, Self-Care, and many others!

We know that standardized tests are designed to challenge students. We're here to help them prepare.

The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is a standardized test that many independent private schools use for student enrollment. Many independent private schools use ISEE scores to assess a student's readiness for their level of curriculum. Now, the ISEE is no longer the determining factor in admission to elite Boston Public Schools. As more information come out, we will begin to support our students as they study for the ISEE replacement- the MAP test.

Test taking strategies, techniques, and practice in class ensures student development with the appropriate skills needed for success. Familiarizing our students with the type of questions that they will see on the exam can help build self-confidence and more accuracy.
